SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SYMPOSIUM 2017
Fostering Innovation through Research in Science &Technology
This science and technology symposium shines a spotlight on the critical role played by academic research and development. Given our growing understanding that innovation is the key to future economic competitiveness and progress, the research efforts of our scientists and their collaborative efforts with each other as well as partnerships with other institutions have never been more essential. In a world where creative ideas are our most valuable assets, we cannot afford to ignore the knowledge and talent latent inside academia and research communities.
The objective of this two-day event is to bring together professionals from various fields and to promote dialogue among themselves as well as the communication to society at large. The symposium gathers together researchers, industry and others from Barbados and abroad for scientific talks and presentations.
This symposium is now a biennial event, recognizing the necessity of providing a consistent platform for our scientists to share their research findings. Budding scientists too, are encouraged to take part and be mentored by the seasoned professionals.
This S&T symposium is being hosted therefore to provide a suitable forum for researchers to discuss the results of their research efforts with each other and the wider community - research efforts, which could foster greater levels of innovativeness in society.
